Island Hoppers
Posted by: Jay AKA SugarDaddyOn the eve of joining Jason and turning old, grey and one year closer to the age of 30 I thought I would update you with the latest chapter from our world adventure.
Today (Wednesday) we left the island of Koh Tao taking a one and half hour boat journey to the island of Koh Samui.
The three of us, joined by our Canadian friends Matt, Caley and Jenna, spent a total of seven days in Koh Tao, one of Thailand’s three islands to the east of the country.
Let me just say the pace of life in Asia is not exactly quick, in Koh Tao it barely moves. Suffice to say we loved it!
Koh Tao, which translates as Turtle Island, only covers an area of 21 kilometers square but what it lacks in size it makes up in beauty.
The sea water is the clearest I have ever seen with amazing visibility, whilst the sand is soft and white. The areas around are mountainous with wooden bungalows scattered in between the trees with the wonderful sound of wildlife adding to the fantastic ambience. Beautiful beaches, spectacular views, fantastic food and very friendly people. What more could you ask for?
Moving on to Koh Samui, a bigger island, although the initial signs are good. Matt and Caley have now left us to continue there trip together but Jenna has stayed around and will be travelling with us through Malaysia so becomes the fourth TripRoaster. Welcome aboard!
We are due to stay here on Koh Samui for a few days, celebrating me getting old as well as doing more relaxing and … more relaxing.
I hope everyone is well. From the 24-year-old Jay, speak to you soon!
Well Jay enjoy the last few hours of being 24 - if you were here(England) it be more…. Enjoy, talk very soon - lots of love “First Born”…..
PS The island sounds amazing - looking forward to Pics:)x
Big Happy Birthday to you Jay. How many people can say they had a full moon party on a beautifull island for their 25th?! Great way to celebrate quarter century. Have a great day tomorrow (well it’s today for you now) and I know the party will be memorable. Lots of Love and good wishes. Sue & Leon xx
P.S. Just realised Tottenham are playing tomorrow - maybe the will win for you on your birthday (or maybe not!).
Just reading about the beautiful beaches and clear waters of Koh Sumui and then read they opened a Makro there a few months ago! Doesn’t fit in with my image of the island. Got your Makro card with you Jamie?
Hey Jay,
