Magic Melbourne

With a European feel about it, coupled with bright sunshine and a fantastic ambiance, Melbourne is quite possibly an ideal place to live, party or visit.

The Victorian (the territory as opposed to the period) city has been our home for the past five days … and what a five days they have been.

We arrived here in 30 degree heat, that is at 3.30 a.m. I might add, and since we touched foot on Melbourne soil we have not stopped having fun.

Apart from the odd party (or five!) we have been busy boys.

Joined by the fourth Jay, young 23-year-old Welshman Josh Hill who incidentally will be travelling with us for the remainder of our time in Australia, we have been to Neighbours.

Yes, that’s right, we went to the world famous Ramsay Street, visited the set and then went to a super party at a local bar where we met the legend that is Dr Karl Kennedy, aka Alan Fletcher, Libby, Dylan, Darcy and Declan.

Next stop it was a visit to the Australian Open for a bit of tennis action. We arrived at 10.30 a.m. And left at 11 p.m.

The sun was beating down hard, the tennis was superb and the atmosphere fantastic. Coupled with that we were lucky enough to see ninth seed Daniella Hantuchova, legend of the game Venus Williams and current world number and idol of the three of us, Roger Federer. What a day.

Today (Wednesday) is our departure day although this Sugar Daddy took a little time out to visit the very spectacular Melbourne Cricket Ground – the home of, yes, cricket, Aussie Rules, Hockey and a few other sports as well as the venue for some events during the recent Commonwealth Games. With a 120,000 capacity it is an impressive site.

This afternoon we travel along the Great Ocean Road towards Adelaide.

The adventure continues.
