Poke, Prick and Prod

So we’re off to places where they have rabid dogs, hepititis in abundance, and malaria sodden mosquitos buzzing round your head. And all this in just 9 weeks time.

We’ve been informed by our doctors that in order to protect ourselves from these dangers we have to comply with a simple two step process:

Step 1 - Tranfer large ammounts of cash from our wallets into the coffers of the travel clinic or surgery
Step 2 - Get stuck by multiple needles, multiple times, in multiple places

This may sound like a raw deal, but I’m assured that its very necessary.

EDIT: Now apparently, for those lucky enough to live in certain areas (*cough*Paul*cough*) Step 1 isn’t compulsary. Lucky buggers. Although I think he’d gladly do step 1 if it meant he didn’t have to do step 2, the big girls blouse.

Here’s the list of what we’re having:

All our standard English ones up to date (Polio, Tetanus, etc)
Hep A + B
Rabies
Japanese B Encephalitis

Plus we’ve also got to get anti-malarials for the duration of our Asia segment. On that note, the cheapest we’ve found so far is Boots.com at only 12 pence per tablet.
