Shanghai Waste
Posted by: Jay AKA SugarDaddyWhen the boys from TripRoast said goodbye to Mummy, all four of them were worried - “oh Asia, a dicky tummy”.
For Jay, Paul and Jason things have all been fine, however, for dear Pesky it has been far less sublime.
The boy from Potters Bar does not have anything gorry, for this young fellow, it’s quite a different story.
Young Jamie, or Pesky as he is affectionately known, cannot bring himself to perform on the thrown.
Let’s just say that the other three need no alternative, but for this young Diver of Geeky World he as had some laxative.
***Please note Jamie is ok with this story being published!!!***
aaahhh! I knew you would be the first to get SOMETHING wrong with you
Still, better than the other way round I suppose! xxxx
I’ll make the comment you expect me to, Jamie. You’re not eating your fruit! Vitamin C is a very good laxative if you can get any and take extra for a few days.
Yes Jamie, eat fuit DONT take too many laxatives!
Don’t make me close the comments on this thread people. Its all lies. Of sorts.
I fear there may be a little too much ionformation here
Hello Jamie,
Hope you’re all having a FAB time (and your tummy is better; get some aloe vera juice if you can…!!!)
With love,
Nette & Per
Loads of stuff on the net about tea ceremony scams, e.g. on Fodor’s:
“If a “nice” person offers to help you go to a tea or coffee house, ignore them cuz it’s a scam. It happens in Shanghai but I hear it’s bigger in Beijing.”
“.. say the words “tea ceremony” and my alarm bells go off. Especially because a recent guest of ours got ripped off by the Tian’anmen tea scam for over $500! And, to my knowledge, tea ceremonies are not part of the Chinese tradition.
That being said, if you want to BUY tea and LEARN about Chinese tea, I would head to tea street Maliandao in Beijing. This is an enormous market that sells all manner of teas - oolong, green tea, jasmine, pu’er, etc. etc. etc. Vendors speak little English, but are happy to let you taste. Alternatively, the city is dotted with Ten Fu tea stores. I shop here a lot for gifts. They’re a little overpriced, and they definitely try to up-sell you, but the quality is good.”
Hi Jamie
Welcome to my world - the problem you are experiencing is one that I suffer on every single international trip. I have just returned on Sunday from Malaysia, the Philippines and Dubai and on this occasion although I minimised the problem I have not yet found a complete cure. If its any consolation once you go the problem does seem to totally resove!!!
My tips are:
Do not visit a Chinese medicine establishment or a pharmacy as you are unlikely to find an answer here - instead you may be sold a chemical “bung” which will only make matters worse.
Vitamin C is good as are copious amounts of fluid. One other “cure” is sugar free mints. They contain sorbatol and a whole pack can be almost guarenteed to get things moving.
I do wish you well with this one. Please note that the advise offerred is from a personal perspective and does not in any way represent the opinions of the NHS or any of its employees.

I think all has been said about scams, I am sure you will be much wiser from now on!
