TripRoast becomes….TriRoast!!
Posted by: Jason AKA Mr CanadaHello fans!
A big change in TripRoast camp to announce to you all….we’ve dropped the ‘P’ in favour of a name change to the above….
….and what exactly is the significance of this I hear you all ask!?!?
Well, two really….Dirty Dog aka ‘P’aul is no longer with us and yes, that indeed leaves us with just three world wandering nomads left….yes, yesterday was a sad day and tears were shed inside, but the time had come for him to spread his wings and take on the world solitarily. We nurtured him for ten weeks but have now relieved him from his Dirty Dog duties and set him free to explore the land of lovely beaches, liberal attitudes and….ladyboys!
I’m sure he’ll tell you more about it himself and I’m sure you’ll be hearing from him often, just don’t let him ruin the excitement of all the places we’re yet to hit okay!?!?
We’d of course like to wish him good luck and all the best on his adventures in Thailand and further afield and we’re gonna miss the jokes and good times that have come to characterise this trip so much already.p>
Take care out there dude, keep your head and keep in touch and we’ll see you for some more snake wine and scuba in ten months!
A brief update for everyone:
- We won’t be changing the site name but there is talk of unravelling the stitching on our t-shirts!
- Our visas for ‘Nam run out tomorrow (never a dull day eh, last minute all the way!) so we should be setting off for Cambodia tomorrow….more on that to follow!
- We’ve all fallen in love with Vietnam, the country, the people, the food are all wonderful (yes the non agent-orange hit countryside rivals that of Canada’s!).
- BUT due to a few hinderances we’ve not seen as much of the south as we’d have liked, so we certainly plan on returning in the future!
We’ve been through a lot the past week or so but I’ll keep it short and you’ll hear from us in Cambodia soon (I think they have power there!).
So - now you really are going to try and take the ‘P’ out of each other huh?
Don’t get stuck in Vietnam guys - it’s been a while since anyone has organised a search and rescue mission across the border and it doesn’t look like that Hilton has maid service
Great play on words (and you Leon)! Take care Paul and say hi on MSN from time to time and let us know how you are getting on.
Enjoyed the further update of photos interspersed amongst the others. Shaolin mountain looks amazing but I got verigo just looking at the photos! Can see why you enjoyed the family hospitality on the bike tour.
Love to you all. Sx
Wow! I´m a bit in shock. Hope Paul stays in touch, he is dear to my heart. Don´t worry, Alena and Derek, Paul has a good head on his shoulders! I´m off to London and the NE in uk this weekend so will try to give you a ring. Take good care everyone! Lots of love Jaytona Mom
I feel a bit sad too.
Thank you Karen for your kind words. Paul seems to be OK so far.
Sad to see Paul go but wish him luck and safe journey.
As for “Grasshopper”, I’m glad you are better now and good going on your scuba licence. Nice to hear your thoughts on Vietnam, not many people speak of Vietnam is such a way.
Seen any ‘left behind’ Huey helicopters? Perhaps you could ’snag’ one of those babies to get around in?
Everyone home fine.
Dad

Thank you Sharon, I am OK, thanks for asking.
Paul,it was nice to hear from you yesterday. Be safe, be happy my Darling. Lots of love!
Hey Paul,
A moment of reflection
As you know I’m at home maintaining the routines of life, (5 days of work at the office, 2 days of home maintenance at the weekend, week in week out), a real regular guy, now if I come and join you for an extended vacation, exploring the tropical islands of South Thailand, searching for the most beautiful beaches, appraising the beach babes and swimming in the crystal clear sea, do you think that Mum will call me DARLING?
You have it made so please just enjoy and take pleasure in it for me.
And there is more isn’t there. Red curry, Green curry, Clear curry, and Jungle curry just to name but a few. And yes all of that followed by clear cold Czech larger. Have u discovered paradise.
Hey Paul,
Ive just book a flight, leaving tonight for Bangkok. See u soon.
Safe Journey Del Boy x
Thankfully im not in bangkok anymore! Thailand is a big country for u to try and track me down in!
It´s great to hear from you Paul, stay in touch on the site. Delboy, stay home, Alena doesn´t need two to worry about. Will email Alena soon, sorry didn´t get a chance to ring this weekend, but Sharon, thanks for getting in touch and reporting that Jason is ok. Jason, make sure you wait until your ear is fully healed and your chest before diving again, okay! Love to all of you. Jaytona Mom
Hey boys! Still jealous about your travelling! I’ve only JUST got my video footage digitised so will start cutting soon. Guess what? I bought a bike! It’s a big boy Yamaha TDM 850, which you will get a chance to try when you hit Sydney (apologies in advance to worried mums). Been applying for jobs in Asia so who knows where we’ll meet! Beers on me whenever you hit town. Cheers, Dan.
Hey Danny boy!
That’s awesome news man! We’re all jealous but looking forward to checking the bike out! Keep it real and keep those beers on ice, we’ll be there before you know it! Definitely let us know if you’re back in Asia any time soon too!
Hey ‘Grasshopper’ Jason,
Happy Birthday to you. I tried to get you today on the phone but no luck.
Thanks for your birthday call, it meant alot. And we won the hockey game too!
Hope you were able to have a little celebration-cake, ice cream?
Everyone sends the best to you. Spoke to California and they also send birthday wishes. Mel and mine are on the same day. He’s been on your website and will send you a message soon.
Love to you. Happy Birthday, son.
